Ala Wai Harbor is the largest small boat harbor in the Hawaii Islands. Ala Wai Boat Harbor is located in Honolulu at the entrance of the Ala Wai Canal, between Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. To the east is beautiful Waikiki beach and Diamond Head; to the west, Magic Island Ala Moana Beach Park.The TransPac sailing race begins in Los Angeles ends at the Ala Wai Boat harbor, this event that takes place every two years. The harbor is home to the Waikiki Yacht Club and the Hawaii Yacht Club, which host weekly sailing races. |

Ala Wai Canal |

Ala Wai Canal is an artificial waterway in Waikiki, Hawaii. The Ala Wai Canal was created in 1928 for the purpose of draining the rice paddies and swamp area of Waikiki. The Ala Wai Canal is used for training of several outrigger canoe teams in Honolulu. After work you can see many outrigger canoe teams paddling up and down the Ala Wai Canal. There is also a walking/jogging path on the Waikiki Side of the Ala Wai Canal. |

Duke Kahanamoku Statue |

Located at Kuhio Beach in the heart of Waikiki, the large bronze statue of Duke Kahanamoku offers Aloha to the all to come visit him in Waikiki. Duke Kahanamoku was born on August 24, 1890. He grew up surfing in Oahu. Duke broke the worlds record in the 100-yard freestyle and won Olympic gold in the 100-meter freestyle in 1912. He also won two gold medals in 1920 at age 34 in the 1924 Olympics. Duke earned his living teaching surfing at Waikiki Beach. |

Diamond Head - Gold Coast |

Diamond Head Gold Coast is located between Kapiolani Park and the blue Pacific Ocean. There are several condo buildings along the gold coast that are home to the rich and famous. It is home to the Outrigger Canoe Clud and the Elks Club. The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel is located on Diamond Heads Gold Coast and is only a short walk to Waikiki. You can also find the Waikiki Aquarium on Diamond Head's Gold Coast. |

Diamond Head Lighthouse |

Diamond Head Lighthouse is a United States Coast Guard facility located in Honolulu, Hawaii and placed on the National Historic Register in 1980. The Diamond Head lighthouse was featured on a US postage stamp in June 2007. The Diamond Head Lighthouse was built on the slope of Diamond Head Crator in 1899 and still uses the original fresnel lens. |

The Waikiki Shell is an outdoor concerts venue located in Kapiolani Park. It is steps from Waikiki and has a backdrop of Diamond Head. The Waikiki Shell seats 2,400 people and is managemed by the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. It looks similiar to the Hollywood Bowl. |
